printmakers. Short’s Sussex is
the same length (80 pages) as the Slater book

Like Eric Slater, Sir
Frank Short (1857-1945) spent much
of his later life in Seaford. After retiring in
1924 from the Royal College of Art, where he was
Professor of Engraving, he produced a series of
prints, watercolours and pastels of Seaford,
Newhaven and the Cuckmere Valley. Short’s Sussex
also includes some of his earlier images of Rye,
Winchelsea and Bosham.
